Mary Agnes Fojtik Cabla was born in Jarrell, Texas on March 15, 1920, to John and Agnes Ramancek Fojtik and went to her eternal glory on April 29, 2018, at the age of 98. Mary was born and raised in Jarrell, Texas, before moving to Corpus Christi where she met and married the love of her life, Eugene H. Cabla. They farmed together for many years in the West Sinton area until his death. She enjoyed tending to her huge garden, canning, making kolaches, and strudel for her family. Mary loved cooking and baking for her family. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In recent years she lived in North Richland Hills, Texas. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings Albert (Veronica) Fojtik, Josef Fojtik, Emma Fojtik, Hermine (Anton) Janosek, John Fojtik, Adela (John) Drozd, Rudolph (Della) Fojtik, Lydia (Joe) Matysek, Jeannette (Raymond) Pospech, Marcella (Oliver) Till, and Edwin Fojtik. She is also preceded in death by her great-granddaughter Charlotte Kate Kinnebrew. She is survived by her children Robert (Bonita) Cabla of Keller, Texas, Patricia (David) Coldiron of Houston, Texas and Gene (Rena) Cabla of Portland, Texas. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A rosary was recited on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home of Sinton, TX. A graveside service was held on Friday, May 4, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at the Sinton Cemetery.

 

Erlinda G. Cabrera, 86, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2019. She had been employed as a provider for home health. She is preceded in death by her husband, Moses Cabrera, and her son, Alfredo Cabrera. She is survived by her son, David (Rosemary) Cabrera of Edroy, her daughters, Delia Rodriguez of Odem, Nelda (Daniel) Juarez of Edroy, and Linda (Michael) Newcomer of Corpus Christi, her daughter-in-law, Oralia Cabrera of Mathis, 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. A rosary will be recited at 7 PM Monday, July 22, 2019, in the Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Odem with Father Isaias Estepa as celebrant. Interment will follow at Edroy Cemetery in Edroy. The family wishes special thanks to aides and nurses from Harbor Hospice and Windsor at Calallen.

Virginia "Vickie" Munoz Candela, 72, loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. Virginia was born on March 19, 1948, in Beeville, Texas to Juan Pablo Munoz, Sr. and Augustina Reyna. She loved clothes and her own style of dress. She also loved to dance. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Antonio "Tony" Candela, her sister, Lupe De La Rosa, and her brother, John Paul Munoz, Jr. She is survived by her loving family, her sons, Antonio "Tony" (Elizabeth) Candela and Gabriel (Kirsten) Candela of Odem, her brother, Richard (Janie) Munoz of Beeville, her sister, Mary (Ricky) Martinez of Odem, four grandchildren, Alyssa Briane Candela, Alayna Brooke Candela, Koby Antonio Candela, and Abrielle Anne Candela and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation will be held from 2 PM to 9 PM with a holy rosary being recited at 7:30 PM Friday, March 5, 2021, at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home. Albert Candelaria, 36, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. Albert was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He had been employed as a medical transport driver. He is survived by his loving family, his wife, Roxanne Candelaria of Sinton, his daughters, Alexandria Morales, Ruby Rae Candelaria and Savannah Lynn Candelaria of Sinton, his brothers, Gilbert (Kim) Candelaria, Johnny Joe (Lori) Candelaria and Gilroy Candelaria of Sinton, his sister, Ruby Ann (Frank) Gonzales of Sinton, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A visitation will be held Friday, June 24, 2022, from 2 PM to 9 PM with a holy rosary being recited at 7 PM at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Eternal Rest Cemetery in Sinton.

Manuel Candelaria, 71, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021. Manuel was born on June 14, 1949, in Sinton, Texas to Gilbert and Olivia Posas Candelaria, Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Sinton and had been employed as a truck driver. He had a passion for fishing which he really loved doing. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gilbert Candelaria, Jr. He is survived by his loving family, his wife of 54 years, Elisa Candelaria of Sinton, his sons, Manuel Candelaria, Jr.of Odem and Ray Candelaria of Odessa, his daughters, Melissa Candelaria of Corpus Christi, Cassandra Alaniz and Lupe Anaya of Sinton, Joann Candelaria of Odem and Celine Gonzales of Odessa, his sisters, Norma Ortiz of Sinton and Janie Gonzalez of McAllen, 25 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be held at 3 PM Tuesday, January 19, 2021, with a rosary being recited at 7 PM at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 AM Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Sinton with Father Glen Mullan as celebrant. Peggy Rossington Canion passed away peacefully on May 6, 2021 at her home in Sinton, Texas. Peggy was born on March 16, 1934 near Carrizo Springs, Texas to Reynolds and Loree Rossington. She graduated from Crystal City High School as Salutatorian in May 1951. She attended Southwest Texas Junior College in Uvalde, Texas, where she met the love of her life Leo Canion. After living in Hondo, Denver and Kingsville, Peggy and Leo settled in Sinton in 1958, where they were both educators. Peggy taught high school math for 20 years at Sinton High School and Taft High School. She loved teaching math and instilled that love in her students. Many will fondly remember her wearing sunglasses as she demonstrated countless examples on the overhead projector. Peggy was born with a green thumb and loved working in her yard. She was an avid collector of arrowheads, antique bottles and Occupied Japan figurines. Peggy and Leo spent summers creating precious memories with their children and grandchildren on the Frio River. She spent many hours cheering on the Sinton Pirates and Lady Pirates, as she was an avid fan and one of their greatest supporters. She was a loving Yaya to her grandchildren who loved her beyond words. She will be dearly missed by her family and many life-long friends. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Reyn and Loree Rossington, her brother Tom "Boody" Rossington, her sister Robbie Speer,  and granddaughter Kaylie Yuill. She is survived by her husband Leo Canion, her daughters Joyce Lynn Canion  of Sinton and her children, Kyle Yuill and Kaitlyn Yuill, Lori Burgin and husband Todd of New Braunfels and their children Shane McDonald, Brooke McDonald, Jennifer Burgin, Kyndal Burgin and Matthew Burgin, Leigh Vickers and husband Bennie of Sinton and their children Wesley (Lindy) Vickers and Paige Vickers, her sister, Debbie Martin and husband Troy of Devine, brother-in-law Pete Speer of Uvalde, sister-in-law Martha Rossington of Boerne and many beloved nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Friday, May 14, 2021 from 9 AM to 10 AM at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel with services starting at 10 AM with Rev. Willis Moore, officiating. Interment will follow at Sinton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers. Peggy requested that donations be made to the Sinton Public Library.

Francis Marie Cardenas, 50, loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and niece passed away at home on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, surrounded by her loving family after battling cancer. She was born October 12, 1969 in Sinton, Texas to Juan Cardenas and Jilda Morin Franco. She had been employed as a corrections officer and was a longtime supporter of the Special Olympics and the Corpus Christi Miracle League. She is preceded in death by her father, Juan Cardenas. She is survived by her mother, Jilda Morin Franco, her son, John Viafranco, her daughter, Julianna Salinas (Colby Cavitt), two grandchildren, Clifford Cavitt and Birdie Cavitt, her sister, Marvella Ortiz, her brother, Gabriel Cardenas, and her aunt, Janie Morin Garcia. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2020, from 1 PM to 9 PM at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home with a prayer service being held at 7 PM. A private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Corpus Christi Miracle League.

 

Marta Serrano Cardenas, 60, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and was a dedicated baker. She is survived by her husband, Jorge Cardenas of Sinton, her sons, Robert Cardenas and Steve Cardenas of Sinton, her daughter, Miranda Green of Sinton, her brothers, Estanislado Serrano, Jr. and Cristobal Serrano of Sinton and Rene Serrano of San Antonio, her sisters, Margarita Serrano Garcia of Odem and Marfa Serrano of Sinton, and 3 grandchildren. There was a visitation from 6 PM to 9 PM with a rosary being held at 7 PM Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral mass was celebrated at 10 AM Thursday, August 9, 2018, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Glen Mullan as celebrant. Interment followed at Eternal Rest Cemetery.

Ramon G. Cardenas, Jr., 72, loving father, brother, uncle and friend went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 30, 2022. Ramon had been employed as a welder-pipefitter and was a US Army veteran. He was a member of the Signal Corp. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ramon Cardenas, Sr. and Luisa Cardenas, and his niece, Stephanie C. Trevino. He is survived by his loving family, his son, Carlo Cardenas of Ingleside, his daughters, Nicole Cardenas of Ingleside and Raquelle Cardenas of Clovis, New Mexico, his brothers, Domingo Cardenas of Sinton, Edward Cardenas of Dallas and Luis Cardenas of Oklahoma, his sisters, Celia Cardenas of Oklahoma, Maria Elena Cardenas and Alicia Cardenas of Skidmore, and three grandchildren. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2022, from 3 PM to 9 PM with a holy rosary being recited at 7 PM at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 AM Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Sinton with Father Glen Mullan as celebrant. Robert Steve Cardenas, 44, of Sinton passed away on October 5, 2021, due to complications of Covid. Robert Steve grew up in Sinton and worked as a Pipeliner most of his adult life. Steve had many friends and was known for the being the life of the party. He will be dearly missed and always remembered. Robert Steve was predeceased by his mother, Marta Serrano Cardenas. He is survived by his father, Jorge Luis Cardenas, his sister, Miranda Green (Gerald), his son Robert Luis Cardenas and one niece and nephew. Robert Steve requested a cremation and burial of ashes be held in his honor as opposed to traditional funeral services. The burial of Robert Steve’s ashes will be announced via a Facebook event created by family.

Michelina (Lina) Maria Carrogu-Rocha, 73, of Odem, Texas passed away on March 16, 2022, after a long illness. Michelina was born on October 1, 1948, to Paola and Nicolino Carrogu in Bulzi, Sardegena. Michelina attained her GED at Chanute AFB, Ranatoul, IL. In 1969, Michelina met Fernando Rocha Jr. and wed on February 14, 1971, going on to have one child, Nickalos A. Rocha. Michelina was a 35-year dedicated parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus, having taught Religious Education for 20 years. Michelina loved volunteering at Driscoll Children's Hospital for 20 years. Michelina is predeceased by her parents (Paola Fiori and Nicolino Carrogu). Michelina is survived by Fernando Rocha Jr. (husband), Nickalos A. Rocha (son, and wife, Chelynne Chuc), Salvatorre Carrogu (brother), Severeno Carrogu (brother), Paulo Carrogu (brother), and Giovannina Manunta (sister). Visitation will be held Sunday, March 20, 2022, from 2 PM to 9 PM at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home with a holy rosary being recited at 7 PM. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30 AM, Monday, March 21, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Odem with Father George officiating. Interment will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi at 11 AM.

 

Noe Garcia Cassnova, 84, of Sinton, Texas passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at his home. Noe was born February 8, 1932, in Skidmore, Texas to Arturo Casanova and Mariana Garcia. For 39 years Noe was employed as a manager for Cavitt Hardware, a hardware store located in Sinton, Texas. After retirement, he took part-time employment as a carrier for Commercial State Bank. He very much enjoyed joking with each and every individual who crossed his path. His life's enjoyment was his family. Noe is survived by his three sons, Rafael Casanova, (Susan Cooks), Arturo Casanova (Yolanda Gutierrez), Noe Casanova,Jr.(Mary Jane Casanova), his four daughters, JoAnn Casanova, Margarita Luna (Hank Luna), Iris Zepeda (Christopher Zepeda) and Christina Rivera (Ramsey Rivera) and his wife Anna Maria Abrego Casanova,15 grandchildren, his sisters, Maria Elena Montelongo (BaldemarMontelongo), Elogia Alvarez (the late Tony Alvarez) and Minerva Moreno (Joe Moreno) and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arturo and Mariana, and his brother, Rafael Casanova. Public viewing began at 12:00PM Friday, September 9, 2016, followed by a rosary at 7:00PM to be performed at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home. Mass was celebrated on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at 11:00AM at Sacred Heart Church. Burial followed at Eternal Rest Cemetery with full military honors.

Idolina T. Castillo, 87, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021. Idolina was born on August 28, 1933, in San Antonio, Texas to Miguel and Francisca Aleman Trevino. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Norma Garcia, her brothers, Frank Trevino, Mike Trevino, Alex Trevino, and Jesus Trevino. She is survived by her loving family, her husband, Frank Castillo, her daughter, Yolanda (Pablo) Rodriguez, her sons, Frank (Mollie) Castillo, Jr. and Michael (Rosemary) Castillo, her brothers, Johnny, Jimmy, Neto, Wally, Henry, Patrick, and Rudy Trevino and Miguel Aleman, her sisters, Tina Rivas, Tome Jimenez, Mary Jane Norris, Janie Woodall, Dominga Trevino, Irene Trevino, and Carina Gutierrez, 10 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren. Francisco "Pancho" A. Castillo, Sr.,89, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 16,2022. Francisco was born on November 14, 1932, in Anson, Texas to Gilberto Castillo, Sr. and Nicolasa Alvira. Francisco enjoyed fishing and doing woodwork. He loved playing dominos and especially loved the Dallas Cowboys. He also maintained and cleaned the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Idolina Castillo, his daughter, Norma Castillo Garcia, his brothers, Eladio Castillo, Sr., Estanislado Castillo, Sr., Jose Castillo, Craciano Castillo and Gilbert Castillo, Jr., his sisters, Guadalupe Martinez and Maria Quintanilla. He is survived by his loving family, his daughter, Yolanda (Pablo) Rodriguez, his sons, Frank (Mollie) Castillo, Jr. and Michael (Rosemary) Castillo, 10 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM, Friday, March 18, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a holy mass to follow at 10:00 AM with Father Yul Ibay as celebrant. ​Manuela Y. Castillo, 91, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018, after a short illness. She was a loving mother, grandmother. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe. She was preceded in death by her husband Estanisaldo Castillo , a son Estanisaldo "Esty" Castillo , Jr. and a grandson Jacob Castillo . She is survived by her sons Gilberto Castillo of Refugio, Tx and Alonzo Castillo of San Antonio, Tx . Her sisters Nina Orta of Taft, Tx and Juanita Gonzalez of Leander, Tx . 14 Grandchildren, 33 Great Grandchildren, and 29 Great-Great Grandchildren. A rosary was recited at 7 P.M. Sunday, January 7, 2018. Funeral mass was celebrated at 12 P.M. Monday, January 8, 2018, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment followed at Eternal Rest Cemetery in Sinton. ​

Kenneth Paul Catchings was born December 20, 1964, and passed away on April 17, 2021, age 56. Paul graduated from W. B. Ray High School and Del Mar College. He worked at the Corpus Christi Army Depot as a machinist. He loved riding his Harley and collecting antique tractors and clocks. He was predeceased by his brother, William Lowell Catchings, his maternal grandparents, Bervin and Vivian Swango, and his paternal grandparents, C.E. and Estelle Catchings. He is survived by his parents, Pauline and Kenneth Catchings, his aunt, Janice Sykora, and many cousins. Graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Odem, Texas, on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at 2 PM with Rev. Sean Maloney, Rector, St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, officiating. 

Joseph Stanley Chavez, 57, originally from Sinton, Texas, passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021, in Houston, Texas, where he resided for the past 26 years. Stan Chavez was born in Sinton, Texas, to Estanislado (Tanis) and Audelia (Adele) Chavez on September 18, 1963. He married the love of his live, Marlyn Gonzalez, on August 18, 1990. He graduated from Sinton High School in 1982 and went on to further his education at Texas A & I in Kingsville. A devoted father and family man, Stan never missed an opportunity to show love and support for his children, his wife, his siblings, and/or his nieces and nephews. Known for his jokes and constant desire to keep everyone around him smiling, he was a shining light in all of our lives. Giving back to the community when and where he could, Stan was a spiritual man and found happiness in volunteering at his local Catholic Church and teaching catechism classes to the congregation's youths. Whether it be a warm handshake, a strong embrace, or simply a heartfelt grin, he brought warmth and good energy to all, and touched the lives of those who knew him. He is preceded in death by his dear father, Tanis Chavez, on April 8, 1990, and his beloved mother, Adele Chavez, on April 26, 2001. Stan is survived by his wife and soulmate of 30 years, Marlyn Gonzalez-Chavez, their sons, Joseph  Matthew and Brian Andrew Chavez, their daughter, Amber Alyssa Chavez, his two sisters, Velma Chavez-Cortez and Vanessa Chavez, and his brother, Wayne Anthony (Tony) Chavez; all residing in Houston. Pallbearers will be David Chavez, Christopher Gomez, Eloy Martinez, Ryan Cantu, Ricardo Amador Jr., and Jonathan Amador. Childhood best friend, Mayor Edward Adams, will serve as an honory pallbearer. The wake and visitation will take place on Friday, April 30, 2021, at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home, and a rosary will commence at 7 PM. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Eternal Rest Cemetery.

Velma Jones Chewning, age 92, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 12, 2021.  She was born February 7, 1929 in Tallant, Oklahoma to Paul Jones and Ruby Clark Jones. Velma always took care of others first and kept herself busy in the kitchen baking and trying new recipes.  When not taking care of others, you would find her curled up with a good book as she was an avid reader.  She retired from the banking industry and moved to Rockport.  She was quite the dancer and made many close friends at the local weekend dances and potluck dinners.  She has been a member of the First Baptist Church of Rockport for over 25 years.  Velma loved children and enjoyed sharing her love of God during Vacation Bible School annually up until just a couple of years ago. She was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Velma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy, her eldest son Rory, a sister Wanda Jones Moose, and a brother Kenneth Jones. She is survived by her son Randy Chewning and wife Sheila, and her daughter Rajean Chewning Watkins and husband Cecil; grandchildren, Delaney Watkins and wife Stacey, Troy Chewning, and Stephanie Chewning; great-grandchildren Sephten and Rhysten Watkins, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Lily M. Clark, 88, passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2018. She was a lifelong resident of Sinton and had been employed as a secretary for the City of Sinton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett E. Clark, her daughter, Barbara J. Clark, her mother and stepfather, Manuela and Anastacio Cruz, and her brother, Charlie T. Moreno. She is survived by her sons, Alan E. Clark and Michael C. ( at) Clark of Sinton, her daughter, Lynda (Al) Jamison of Corpus Christi, her brother, Arturo Moreno of Detroit, Michigan, and two grandchildren. A rosary was recited at 7 PM Friday, September 21, 2018, at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home. Anthony Constante, 50, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2021. Anthony loved fishing, doing mechanic work and  spending time with his nieces, nephews, and all his family. He was born on March 30, 1971 in Knox County, West Texas to Fidel and Martina Navarrette Constante. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Josette and Mary Ann. He is survived by his loving family, his sons, Anthony Constante, Jr. and John Constante of Robstown, his daughters, Isabela Constante of Skidmore, Jezebel Constante of Houston and Katelyn Constante of Robstown, his parents, Fidel and Martina Constante of Odem, his brothers, Fidel Constante, Jr. and Nicholas Constante of Odem, and Matthew Constante of Robstown, his sisters, April Constante, Martina Constante and Carolina Constante of Odem, and many other relatives and friends. Fidel Molina Constante, 74, loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022. Fidel was born on August 28, 1947, in Sinton, Texas to Martin and Julia Constante. He was a very active person and enjoyed doing yard work. He is survived by his loving family, his wife, Martina Constante of Odem, his sons, Fidel Constante, Jr. and Nicholas Constante of Odem and Matthew Constante of Robstown, his daughters, April Constante, Martina Constante and Carolina Constante of Odem, his brothers, Ramon Constante  of Austin and Hilario Constante of Odem, his sisters, Delia Sandoval of Sinton, Janie Lopez of Corpus Christi and Dominga Madero of Odem, 32 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. Carmen Garcia Cordova, 84, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021. Carmen loved and enjoyed making tamales, quilts and preparing a meal for anybody. She also loved to gamble, game rooms, lottery tickets and her weekly beauty shop visits. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Gregorio Cordova. Gregorio Hernandez Cordova, 85, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021. He had been employed as a mechanic and truck driver. He enjoyed woodworking, welding, loved barbecuing with family and friends, and was a jack of all trades. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pedro L., Sr. and Petra Hernandez Cordova, his brothers, Domingo Cordova, Nicolas Cordova, and Julian Cano, and his sister, Anita Garcia. Petra M. Coronado, 79, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2019. She had been employed as an LVN. She is survived by her husband John Coronado of Dallas and her sister, Alicia Carranza of Corpus Christi. A rosary was recited at 7 PM Friday, March 29, 2019, at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home. Angela Marie Curlee, 38, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 16, 2016, at her home in Temple, Texas. Angela was born October 30, 1977, to Wayne and Jana Neagle. She grew up in Ponder, Texas. She married her husband Christopher Keith Curlee on March 14, 1998. They had two sons Hunter Wayne and Christian Bryan. She was a loving supportive military wife and mother. She is preceded in death by her grandmother Lois Glines Clark and her son Bryan Curlee. She is survived by her husband Keith and son Hunter of Temple, Texas, in-laws, Chris and Brenda Curlee of Sinton Texas, aunt Jerri Miller of Hurst, Texas, grandfather, L.E. Clark (Mary) of Dish, Texas, brother-in-law Ken (Emily) Curlee of Temple, Texas, sister-in-law Kerry (Fred) Van Cleave of Mineola, Texas along with her nieces and nephews that adored their Gigi, whom she spoiled rotten. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at the First Baptist Church in Sinton. Interment will be at Sinton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or the Wounded Warrior Family Support.

One of Sister Icephene's favorite scriptures was the 23rd Psalm. On August 8, 2018, the Lord made a very special selection for his "Heavenly Garden'' as he plucked a precious, very loved, and dedicated flower, Icephene M. Davis, and gave her eternal rest. Icephene was born February 23, 1937, in Goshan, Alabama to Mrs. Flourance Rouse. She was one of eight children which have all preceded her in death. She accepted the Lord as her personal savior and was baptized at an early age. In 1969 the Lord joined Icephene M. and Tommy L. Davis in Holy Matrimony. She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of forty-eight years, Tommy L. Davis, two daughters, Lorraine Campbell and Annette Adams, five grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. A visitation was held on Thursday, August 16, 018 from 2 PM to 9 PM at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 10:30 AM Friday, August 17, 2018, at Rising Star Baptist Church, 617 Industrial St., Taft, Texas with Rev. Riddley Rich, Jr. officiating. Mary Hellen Deanda, 69, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. Mary Helen was born on April 1, 1946, in Sinton, Texas to Jose Cruz Sr. and Maria Gonzales. She was raised in Sinton and she was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Alicia Gonzales Perez and her niece Dina Hinojosa Ramos. She is survived by her loving family, her sons, Steven Deanda of Allen, Texas, Robert Deanda of Frisco, Texas and Michael Deanda of Little Elm, Texas, her brothers, Cruz Gonzales of Rowlett, Texas, Gilbert Gonzales of Sinton, and Joe Lee Gonzales of Rowlett, Texas, her sisters, Grace Gonzales Chapa of Sinton and Alma Gonzales Lopez of Karnes City, Texas and six grandchildren. A rosary was recited at 7:00PM Friday, February 19, 2016, at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel. Late in the night of January 7, 2016, our dear Lord welcomed Paroda Deitch, 88, into heaven. Close by in the welcoming party were her husband of almost 50 years, Dr. Ernie Deitch, her daughter Julie Deitch Durham, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters. Though her family and friends will greatly miss her earthly presence, they know that Paroda lived a wonderful life, touching many souls in the process. Paroda Ann was born on July 19, 1927, in Ottumwa, Iowa to James C.and Lillian Simpson. She married Ernest R. Deitch and was his constant helpmate as he finished medical school, military service stationed in Austin, Texas, and began family practice medicine in Sinton, Texas in 1952. In subsequent years, she often served as office manager for the Sinton Hospital & Clinic, while raising two daughters and one son. For many years, she also provided support and leadership for the growth and development of the Sinton Public Library. For the last 20 years, she has been especially dedicated to the 1st United Methodist Church in Sinton, where she worked to establish a local RX program that assists needy individuals in receiving medicines they cannot afford. She is survived by her daughter Jane Deitch Armstrong (Jim) of Bryan and son Jim Deitch of New Braunfels; 5 grandchildren Kati Deitch in Lubbock, Elizabeth Deitch in Midland, Regan Durham, Laura Jane & Ethan Durham all of College Station; a sister, Jean Corrigan in Waukee, Iowa as well as numerous nieces and nephews spread across many states. The family received friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home on Monday, January 11, 2016. A celebration of her life was held at 1st United Methodist Church, Sinton, Texas on Tuesday, January 12, 2016, at 10:00AM. Burial followed at Sinton Cemetery. Luis Aguilar Delgado, 59, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018. He had been employed as a rancher. He is survived by his wife, Maria Montoya, his sons, Luis Aguilar, Martin Aguilar and Miguel Aguilar, his daughters, Noemi Aguilar Montoya and Elizabeth Aguilar Montoya. Funeral services were held at 2 PM Saturday, March 1, 2018, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness Church. Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness Church is located at 731 S. Fourth St.

Rafael Delgado, Jr., 90, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 following a long illness. Rafael enjoyed playing golf, going fishing and playing pool. He is survived by his wife, Alicia Delgado of Odem, his sons, Isaac Delgado of Odem and Rafael Delgado, III of Kerrville, and six grandchildren. Baby Royce Jay De La Cruz passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018. He is survived by his parents, Roy and Veronica De La Cruz, his sisters, Jillian and Janelle De La Cruz, his paternal grandparents, Antonio and Aurora De La Cruz, and maternal grandparents, Henry and Diana De Leon all of Sinton. Julio Diaz, 72, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020. He had been employed in the oilfield industry and was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Concepcion Diaz, his wife, San Juanita, his daughter, JoAnn, and his son, Julio, Jr. He is survived by his brothers, Rigoberto Diaz of San Carlos  Durango, Mexico and Eliborio Diaz of Sinton and his sisters, Aurelia Navar of Sinton, Noverta Adame, Cecilia Peralez and Gabriela Flores of Corpus Christi. San Juanita "Janie" Diaz, 69, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2020, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She had been employed as a Head Start teacher and was preceded in death by her mother, Lucia Zuniga, her daughter, JoAnn Diaz Esparza, and her son, Julio Diaz, Jr. She is survived by her loving husband, Julio Diaz of St.Paul, her brother, Jose Zuniga of Corpus Christi and many other relatives and friends. Victor Mendez Diaz, Sr., 83, went to be with our Lord, Sunday, November 29, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. He was retired from the City of Sinton. Victor was a veteran of the Korean War where he earned several medals. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Victor was born November 18, 1932, in Sinton to Juan and Narcisa Diaz. He was a loving devoted father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Victor goes home to our Lord to be reunited with his wife, Leonor, his son, Victor Diaz, Jr., his parents, brothers, Jose and Juan Diaz, and sister, Olivia Castillo. He is survived by his daughters, Blanca (Eugene) Gonzalez, Nelda Sanchez, and Vickie (Sterling) Dunlap all of Sinton. He was blessed and loved by his grandchildren, Priscilla Diaz, Jaime Cruz, Buddy Sanchez, Eugene Gonzalez, Jr., Christina Hernandez, Skipper Sanchez, Brandon Dunlap, Roy Sanchez, Robert Dunlap, Jennifer Dunlap and 15 great-grandchildren,1 great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Rosa (Rudy) Rodriguez from Canton, Michigan, and Irma (Armando) Narvaez of Waxahachie,Texas and one brother-in-law, Victor (Rosario) Gutierrez of Sinton. Ofelia Barrera Dominguez, 85, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 27, 2017 ,following a long illness. Ofilia was born in Reynosa, Mexico, and came to the United States at the age of five and made her residence in Edroy where she was a lifelong resident. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where she was a member of the Guadalupanas. One of her favorite pastimes was playing Bingo. She is survived by her loving family, her sons, Alberto Dominguez of Corpus Christi, Carlos Dominguez, Jr. of Odem, Rene Dominguez of Pasadena, Daniel Dominguez and Jaime Dominguez of Odem and Benjamin Dominguez of New Braunfels, her daughter, Noelia Lopez of Robstown, her brothers, Felix Barrera, Jr. of Edroy, Epifanio Barrera and Rogelio Barrera of Corpus Christi and Frank Barrera of California, her sisters, Ofelia Dominguez of Edroy and Guadalupe Gaona of Wyoming, 22 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. A rosary will be recited at 7:00PM Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home. Rita Dominguez, age 33, passed away on September 19, 2020, in Edroy, Texas. Rita was born on January 24, 1987, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She grew up in the Odem-Edroy community where she graduated High School and served for 10 years as an altar server for our Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She had received her Associates from Del Mar College and was currently continuing her education for her Bachelor's degree. She was working as the Executive Assistant at Post Acute Medical. Rita always made her grand entrance in style at all occasions with her radiant personality and heart of bling and leopard print. There wouldn't be a time where she didn't love shopping and going out with her friends and family. She adored and enjoyed spending time with her niece and nephew. She is survived by her maternal grandmother Jesusa Martinez, her parents, Daniel and Belia Dominguez, her two brothers, Daniel (Tracy) and John (Miranda) one niece, Brooklyn, and one nephew, Jaxon. Several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation was held Thursday, September 24, 2020, from 3 PM to 5:30 PM at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home and 6 PM to 9 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with a holy rosary recited at 7 PM. Anita Lopez Doria, 94, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021. Anita was born to Faustino and Petra Lopez on July 8, 1927 in Guanajuato, Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leobardo Doria, Sr., her sons, John,Sr. ,Joe and Francisco Doria, her brothers, Ignacio "Tacho" Lopez and Jesus Lopez, her sisters, Francisca Garcia and Juanita Garcia, her granddaughter, Anita Ann Doria, and grandson, George Quintero. Joe "Chepo" Lopez Doria, 72, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2019. He was born on July 15, 1947, in Odem, Texas. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved fishing and gardening. He had been employed by the Union Pacific Railroad for 40 years. He was preceded in death by his father Leobrado Doria and his brother John Doria. He is survived by his wife, Dora Landin Doria of Odem, his sons, Manuel (Deborah) Doria and Jose (Marta) Doria of Odem, his daughter, Jo Ann (Norverto, Jr.) Garza of Sinton, his mother, Anita Lopez Doria of Odem, his brothers, Jesus (Trine) Doria, Francisco (Linda) Doria, Sr., Antonio (Yolanda) Doria, Guadalupe (Aurora) Doria, Oracia (Sylvia) Doria and Martin (Azeneth) Doria of Odem, Leobrado (Lupe) Doria of Sinton, and Pablo (Patsy) Doria of Alice, his sisters Maria Quintero of Corpus Christi, Luz Doria, Ofelia (Rosendo) Gomez, and Norma Doria of Odem, and Maria Elena (Danny) Esquivel of Sinton, and five grandchildren. Michael Lee Doria, 48, loving husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022. Michael was born on November 22, 1973, in Sinton, Texas to John L. Doria and Criselda Rodriguez Doria. He had been employed as a truck driver. He is survived by his wife, Margaret of Sinton, his son, Jeremiah Doria of Sinton, his daughters, Leslie Doria of Sinton, Christian (Moses) Reyes of Dickinson and Bethany Doria of Sinton, his mother, Criselda Doria of Sinton, his brother, Johnny Doria of Sinton, three grandchildren, numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022, from 3 PM to 9 PM at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home with a holy rosary being recited at 7 PM. Regino "Pico" Duarte, 95, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2021. Regino was born and raised in Sinton to Saturnino and Paula Bocanegra Duarte. He was a very strict and hardworking man who was one of the fastest cotton pickers. He never met a stranger and was friends with everyone he met. He will be missed. He is survived by his loving family, his sons, Regino Duarte, Jr, of Pasadena, Jesse Duarte and Daniel Duarte of San Antonio,h is daughters, Petra Lozano and Yolanda Garza of Sinton and Mary Garza of San Antonio, 24 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 5 great great-grandchildren. Florence "Sis" Duhart, Sr., 102, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 12, 2016, following a long illness. She was born in Floresville, Texas on August 2, 1914. She had resided in Corpus Christi where she had been employed as a housekeeper for Spohn Hospital until her retirement. She moved to Sinton and had moved back to Corpus Christi about fifteen years ago. She is survived by her loving family, her sons, Tommy Green of Corpus Christi and Raymond Green of Los Angeles, California, her daughter, Tillie Faye Green of Compton, California, her sister, Eddie Mae Stephens of Sinton, three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 17, 2016, at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alton Coleman, officiating. Interment followed at Heaven's Acre Cemetery in Sinton.
