Isaac Gaitan
It is with great sadness that the family of Isaac Gaitan announces his passing after a short illness.
Isaac Gaitan,88, had a long life and experienced the best life had to offer and the worse as well. He was a very social man and made friends everywhere. He worked many jobs all over Texas; and eventually settled at Bay Limited for several years and retired at age 70. Hard workers work up an appetite, and Mr. Gaitan enjoyed food, especially spicy food. Chili and chili peppers were as common on his table as salt and pepper. A true Texan at heart, he enjoyed watching "La Lucha" wrestling and of course, the Dallas Cowboys. A man of strong convictions, pride, and a delightful sense of humor, he will be long remembered and greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, and sisters, the last of his generation; and also by his son, Robert Fuentes Gaitan; and second wife, Sarah Oballe Gaitan. He was survived by their children, Adelmira Espinosa, Leonard and Isaac Gaitan, and most recently by his wife of 22 years Maria Rodriguez Gaitan and her children, Mauricio, Ricky, Becky and George; and was also survived by his loving niece, Patsy Reyes. Isaac was also survived by several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a holy rosary being recited at 2 p.m. at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home in Sinton, Texas. A special appreciation to his nephew, Ernesto Duque from California, who often would make Isaac's day.
