Pedro “La Libre” Lopez, Jr., 81, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2024 peacefully surrounded by his loving family.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.

 

Pedro loved fishing, hunting, and watching all sports.  He loved spending time with all his family and friends; and enjoyed spending time in his man cave.  He had worked for numerous gas and pipeline companies.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Pedro, Sr. and Maria Lopez; his brother, Rumaldo Lopez; and his sister, Tomasa Rivas.  He is survived by his loving family; his loving wife of 58 years, Inez G. Lopez of Sinton; his sons, Danny Lopez of St. Paul and Pedro Lopez, III of Sinton; his daughter, Cindy (Jesse) Lopez Elizondo of Sinton.  Pedro was also survived by several grandchildren including Stephanie (Adolfo) Castro, Danielle Lopez, Danny (Zhoie) Lopez, Jr., Christopher (Crystal) Lopez, Miranda (Hayden) Roach, Kristen Lopez, Omar Lopez, Kelci Lopez, Brandon Elizondo, Jr.; and great-grandchildren including Jaiden Castro, Aria Castro, Noah Castro, Cristian Castro, Elena Lopez, Selene Lopez, and Lucian Lopez.  He is also survived by his brothers Benny (Mary) Lopez of Corpus Christi; Frank “Pancho”(Jovita) Lopez of Sinton; Ernesto (Georgia) Lopez of Sinton, and Jesse Lopez of San Antonio; his sisters, Rebecca (Joe) Perez of San Antonio; Gloria (Dan) Navarro of California, and Lupe Lopez of San Antonio; as well as his sister-in-law Mary Lou Lopez, and many other relatives and friends.  

 

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a holy rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at the Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.  The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, August 30, 2024 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Sinton with Father Yul Ibay as celebrant.  The interment will follow at Eternal Rest Cemetery in Sinton.
