Rene Gomez

Rene Gomez, 71, of Sinton Texas, passed away at Doctors Regional Hospital on November 8th, 2024. He was born on May 28th, 1953 in Corpus Christi Texas to Roque and Angelita Gomez.

Rene Gomez was a hard-working man of many talents, always willing to roll up his sleeves to get the job done. He was passionate about spending time with his grandkids, going fishing, and playing his guitar with his friends in his band, Los Ingredientes De Rene Gomez.

Rene Gomez is survived by his girlfriend Alicia Quintanilla, his daughters, Leticia (Jesse) Garcia and Casey (Ato) Flores, and his son, Rene Aceson Gomez, nine grandchildren: Richard Rene Gomez, Camille Remay Rose Flores, Alyssa Renae Gonzalez, Kiely, Ace-son, Hailee, Ayden, Rhiannah and Riley Gomez, as well as eight great-grandchildren. His twin brother, Roy (Irma) Gomez, brother-in-law Adolfo Garcia, and sisters Alicia Garza, and Anita (Juvenal) Salinas. Along with many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his eldest grandson Rodolfo Deleon Jr., and his older sister Delia Garcia. 

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 12th at 4:00 pm at Ritchea Gonzales Funeral Home. A rosary will be held afterward at 7:00 pm.  The mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 13th at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Sinton Texas. Internment to follow at Sinton Cemetary.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ace-son Gomez, Adan Garcia, Ato Flores, Ayden Gomez, Herminio Barrios, Jesus Garcia, Rene Gomez Jr., and Riley Gomez; Serving as honorary pallbearers are Richard Rene Gomez, and Camille Remay Rose Flores.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Raymond Graff and his dedicated care team, whose compassion and expertise were a great comfort during his final days. Our deepest gratitude also goes to the EMTs and emergency room staff at Doctors Regional Hospital for their swift and tireless efforts. We are profoundly appreciative of the love, support, and prayers offered by family, friends, and the community throughout his life—your presence and kindness meant the world to him.

Rene Gomez will be forever remembered for his infectious laughter and radiant sense of humor, which brightened every room he entered. His rich voice and extraordinary musical talent touched the hearts of all who heard him sing. Rene’s selflessness and unwavering willingness to help others in times of need left a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know him. His spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched, and he will be greatly missed.
