Abel Botello Jr., 69, loving brother, uncle, and friend passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025.  Abel had been employed by the Union Pacific Railroad for 30 years.  His favorite pastimes were fishing, spending time with his family and friends, and spending time with his beloved pets. He is preceded in death by his parents, Abel Botello Sr. and Elia Botello. He is survived by his brothers, Adolfo Botello of Corpus Christi and Armando Botello of Odem; his sisters, Esmeralda (Raul) Thompson of Odem and Nelda (Roland) Reyes of Dallas; his nieces and nephews, Jaime Aleman, Clarissa Aleman, Ariel Aleman, Joshua Reyes, Jared Reyes, Jessica Reyes, Jorge Botello, Arisela Botello, and Miquel Botello.  He is also survived by numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a holy rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.  The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 14, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Odem with Father George and Father Pete Elizardo as celebrants.  Interment will follow at San Pedro Cemetery in Odem.  Serving as pallbearers will be Jaime Aleman, Ariel Aleman, Jorge Botello, Miquel Botello, Fernando Nino, and Austin Botello.
