Adolfo Martinez, Sr.
Adolfo Martinez, Sr. departed this world peacefully at home on Thursday, November 13, 2025. Adolfo was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Adolfo was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Noberta Martinez, and his brothers, Rodolfo Martinez, Antonio Martinez, and Raul Martinez.

Adolfo dedicated many years to seasonal agricultural labor, transitioning to a position as a ginner’s assistant at a cotton gin in O’Donnell, Texas. During the seasonal employment, Adolfo, along with his family, resided in O’Donnell, Texas (located in the Texas Panhandle) before returning to their home in Edroy, Texas. This seasonal work persisted for several years, and the family cherishes numerous fond memories associated with it. Subsequently, Adolfo served as the head custodian at Calallen Middle School, retiring after 25 years of unwavering dedication. Adolfo held a profound sense of pride in his yard work (often seen on his John Deer tractor) and engaged in various woodworking endeavors. He was a ‘sharp’ dresser, consistently wearing his western-style attire, cowboy boots, and cowboy hat.

Adolfo is survived by his devoted wife, Antonia; his son, Adolfo Martinez, Jr.; and his daughter, Ninfa Martinez. He also has one surviving brother, Jose Martinez. Adolfo is the grandfather of six grandchildren and the great-grandfather of ten great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel in Sinton. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. the same evening. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Edroy with Father George as a celebrant.

Interment will follow in Edroy Cemetery in Edroy, Texas.
