Amelia Leal Martinez was born on July 28, 1948, and was raised in Odem, Texas, where she developed a deep love for family, friends, and her community. On August 5, 2026, Amelia peacefully entered her eternal rest, surrounded by the unwavering love of her family.

Amelia was a devoted wife to her husband of 53 years, Aurelio Martinez, Jr. with whom she created a beautiful union grounded in love, laughter and family. Together they raised their daughter and created lasting memories with their grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

As a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, family member and friend, Amelia's life was defined by love, kindness, strength, and compassion. She dedicated herself to caring for those around her, always putting her family first and offering unwavering support, wisdom, and encouragement. She found joy in life's simple blessings-being surrounded by loved ones, sharing laughter, and creating cherished memories. Her legacy is one of faith, resilience, and unconditional love, and those gifts will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Amelia was preceded in death by her mother, Enriquetta Serna Leal; her father, Joe Leal, Sr.; her older brother, Joe (Luisa) Leal II; her younger brother, Victor (Ofelia) Leal; her beloved Ama, Fidela Blanco; Eligio Blanco Sr.; and her cherished niece, Mary Frances Perez.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Aurelio Martinez, Jr.; her loving daughter, Sonia Martinez; her beloved grandchildren, Joey (Destiny) Gamez, Catalina Gamez, and Joaquin Gamez; and her precious great-granddaughter, Cierra Gamez. She held a special place in her hear for her nieces, Melva (Chad) Linn and Angie Leal. Amelia will also be lovingly remembered by her siblings, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, and dear friends, all of whom will continue to treasure the countless memories they shared with her.

Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort in knowing that the love she so freely gave will never fade. Amelia's life was a true blessing, her memory a treasured gift, and she will be deeply missed beyond measure. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Visitation for Amelia will be held at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home in Sinton, Texas on Monday, August 10, 2026 from 3:00pm - 9:00pm with a rosary at 7:00pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at Sacred Heart Church in Odem, Texas at 10 A.M..
