Celestina Escamilla Melendez, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, at the age of 83. Born in Sinton, Texas, on September 30, 1942, Celestina lived a life filled with faith, strength, and love for her family and community.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Francisco Melendez; her sisters, Ernestina E. Gonzalez and Florinda Escamilla; her brother, Miguel Escamilla; and her granddaughter, Julissa Melendez. Their memories live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Celestina is survived by her devoted sons: Raul Silvas, Francisco E. Melendez Jr. (Julie), Michael Melendez, Javier Melendez (Emma), Rigoberto Melendez (Erika), and Peter Melendez (Aimee). She was a cherished grandmother to 11 grandchildren, a proud great-grandmother to ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grand-daughter. She is also survived by her loving sisters: Conchita Gonzales and Juanita Borjas, both of Beeville, and Janie Martinez of Idaho, as well as numerous nieces and nephews throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Celestina will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, her warm heart, and her enduring spirit. Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched and the family she raised with love and grace.

Visitation will be on Saturday, October 18, 2025 for 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 P.M.  Funeral service will be on Sunday October 19, 2025 at 10 a.m. at the Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel in Sinton, Texas.  Interment will follow at Eternal Rest Cemetery .
