Francisco Tijerina Jr.

     Francisco Tijerina, Jr., 73, also known as Frank, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on July 30, 2025.  Frank was born to Francisco (Pancho) and Celia Tijerina on June 2, 1952 in Refugio, Texas.  He graduated from Woodsboro High School in 1972.  After graduation he entered the workforce.  He later married his wife one year after they met and had four children.  He loved all his children, grandchildren, and family.  He later retired from the Grain Elevator.

     Frank was known for his love of football.  The Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns were his favorite teams.  He loved watching his grandsons and granddaughters play sports.  He was a loving son, husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Celia Tijerina Sr. and his daughter Isabel Tijerina; his sisters, Felipa Rivera and Mary Linda Merrill; his brothers, Juan Tijerina, Gregory Tijerina, and Benito Tijerina.  He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Gracie G. Tijerina; his daughter Tiffany (Alonzo) Villarreal of Sinton; his sons Francisco (Maryann) Tijerina III of Sinton, Lawrence (Amber) Tijerina of Odem; fifteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; his sister Theresa (Vicente) Lopez of Houston and numerous nephews and nieces.  The pallbearers will be Dylan Tijerina, Derek Tijerina, Artie Rodriguez Jr., Gabriel Rivera, Dale Lopez, and Austin Villarreal.

     A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2025 from 3 p.m. to 

9 p.m. with a holy rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at the Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral mass will be  held celebrated on Monday, August 11, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sinton.  Interment will follow at Eternal Rest Cemetery in Sinton
