Elvira M. Campos
Elvira M. Campos, 85, of Sinton, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026. She was born to the late Petronilo Martinez and Esther C. Martinez Orta on June 17, 1940.
A lifelong resident of Sinton, Elvira built a life rooted in faith, family, and service. She shared her home and life with her beloved husband, the late Roberto Campos. A devoted Catholic, she lived her faith through acts of kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for those around her.
Family was the center of Elvira’s life. She lovingly helped raise many of her nieces and nephews, sharing her time, wisdom, and unwavering support with each of them. Her home was always a place of warmth and welcome, and her love knew no bounds. She celebrated every milestone, offered comfort during difficult times, and created countless cherished memories that her family will carry with them forever.
Her kindness reached far beyond her family. For many years, Elvira greeted customers with a warm smile and a kind word during her service at Ybarra’s Country Store. She became a familiar face in the community, known for making everyone feel welcome.
Elvira found joy in gardening, singing, dancing, sewing, and completing word-search puzzles. She was a talented crafter who took great pride in sewing beautiful quilts, making cascarones, floral wreaths, and lovingly decorating and restoring her cherished nativity scene each Christmas.
She also loved traveling, camping, attending dances, and cheering from the sidelines at sporting events, especially when supporting her beloved nieces and nephews. A passionate sports fan, she rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on the Sinton Pirates, and she faithfully rooted for the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Cowboys through every season. Win or lose, her loyalty never wavered, and watching the games was one of her favorite pastimes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roberto Campos; her daughter, Consuelo Campos; her stepfather, Nasario Z. Orta; and her sisters, Maria M. Ybarra and Mary Esther Orta Vargas.
Elvira is survived by her sisters, Demecia M. Monreal of Sinton and Rosa O. Martinez of Dallas; her brothers, Juan Jose (Leonor) Orta of Odem and Juan Manuel (Sandra) Orta of San Antonio; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish her memory forever.
