Geralyne Porter Odie-Jones, affectionately known as "Bird,"was born on September 12, 1954, in Taft, Texas, to Floyd and Marine Odie. She was raised in Taft, where her roots, faith, and strong character were firmly established. She later continued her education in Sinton, Texas, and graduated from Sinton High School.

At an early age, Geralyne accepted Christ and was nurtured in the Baptist faith, which became the foundation of her life. She was a faithful member of Rising Star Baptist Church in Taft, Texas, where her love for God and commitment to her faith continued to grow.

On July 28, 1974, Geralyne married the love of her life, Charles Wilbert Jones Sr. Together they built a loving home and were blessed with two sons, Charles Wilbert Jones Jr. and Willie Floyd Jones.

As a devoted homemaker, Geralyne dedicated her life to caring for her family. Being a provider, protector, and trusted friend to her sons was her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment. She embraced motherhood with unwavering strength, endless patience, and unconditional love, creating a home filled with warmth, guidance, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever live in the hearts of those who loved her.

She loved singing, dancing, sewing, and fishing, and each pastime reflected her vibrant personality and gentle spirit. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Odie Sr. and Marine Odie; her sisters, Joyce Ann Odie-Swanson and Peggy Odie-Byrum; and her brother, Floyd Odie Jr.

Geralyne leaves to cherish her precious memory her beloved sons, Charles W. Jones Jr. and Willie F. Jones; and her four cherished grandchildren, Markeith, Keisha, Kamaria, and Alayah.

She also leaves to mourn her passing her sisters, Lillian Odie-Cornelius; Sherwin Odie-Cooper of Houston, Texas; Deniece Odie of Brookshire, Texas; Nancy Odie-Shedd of Lubbock, Texas; and Bonnie Pendleton of Mart, Texas. In addition, she leaves a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends who will forever treasure the love, kindness, and memories she shared throughout her life.

Though Geralyne has departed from this earthly life, the legacy of her love, faith, strength, and devotion to her family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.

A visitation will be held Saturday, August 8, 2026 from 10 a.m. to

11 a.m. at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home. An interment will follow at Heaven's Acre.
