Geselda Rios
Geselda Rios, age 57, passed away on August 1, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will forever cherish her love.
Geselda was born on October 11, 1968, in Greeley, Colorado, where she was born and raised. She later moved to Odem, Texas, where she lived for approximately 20 years, before spending her final years in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Geselda found joy in the simple things in life. She loved to crochet, enjoyed playing bingo, and especially loved to cook. She was well known for her homemade tamales, which were loved by many. Sharing her cooking with family and friends was one of the special ways Geselda showed her love. The memories of her cooking, her laughter, and the time spent gathered together will be treasured by all who knew her.
Geselda was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Maria Guadalupe Rios; her beloved sister, San Juana Rios; and her brothers, Gregorio Rios and Jesse Rios.
She leaves behind her brothers, Astolfo Rios (Susie) and Thomas Rios, who will forever cherish the memories they shared with their sister.
She is also survived by her beloved nieces, Nichol Roxanne (Cody Ray Garcia), Veira Jane Ruiz, Demi Ann Ruiz, America Zamora, Tonia Rios, Sandra Rios, and Jessica Shear-Michaels, as well as her nephews, Astolfo Jubensio Rios (Janie), Ray Rios, and Javier Rios, Dominic Jude Ruiz, Tristan Ruiz, Isiah Rios, and Oscar Rios; along with many cousins and friends who will greatly miss her.
She also shared a special bond with her honorary nephew, Andrew Hernandez, and her honorary grandson, Jonathan Espinoza, along with the John and Marivel Espinoza family, who were a cherished part of her life.
Her beloved dogs, Bandit and Chico, were also very special to Geselda and brought her companionship and unconditional love.
Geselda’s life was a blessing to those who knew her. She will be remembered for the love she gave her family, the food she lovingly prepared, the things she created with her hands, and the memories she made with the people she loved.
Though she is no longer with us, her love will continue through the family she leaves behind and through every story, recipe, and memory shared in her honor.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Rest peacefully, Geselda. Your love lives on in all of us. ❤️
