Funeral services for Jacquelyn (Jackie) Mills, 94, of Odem, Texas be held Monday, March 3, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home in Sinton, Texas, with Brother Willis Moore officiating.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. before the service.  Burial will follow in Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna, Texas following the funeral.  Jackie Sens Mills was born February 7, 1931 in Yorktown, Texas and was welcomed into Heaven on February 28, 2025 by her Savior Jesus. Jackie grew up in Alice, Texas and graduated from high school there in 1948.  She married Virgil F. Mills on June 5th, 1948 in Alice.  They had three children.  Jackie's career was spent as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone, retiring on February 23, 1982 after 30 years. One could hear her say, "Number, please."  The Mills family moved to Pharr, Texas when young and raised their family there.  Jackie loved attending baseball games, working outside in the yard, cross-stitching, playing 42, and going to exercise class at the senior center.  Jackie loved to have fun!

 

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents Georgia and Herman Louis Sens; her brother  "Junior"; two sisters, Mary Ann Hunter and Joy Dunn; and granddaughter, Brandi Mills. Surviving Jackie is her sister Betty Thomas; brother-in-law, Kenneth Hunter; her three children, Charles Ricky and wife Jo Ann, Danny Ray and Terri Lynn; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews, and special friends, Julie Garcia, Chanelle and Gianna Veliz. The family wishes to thank the staff of AADI Home and Health Hospice for their loving care and advice. In lieu of flowers, Jackie's memory may be honored by supporting First Baptist Church of Odem, Texas, at P.O. Box 550, Odem, Texas, 78370.  Serving as pallbearers will be, Kenneth Earl Hunter, Dale Sens, Josh Sens, Gary Sens, Cody Quinn, Casey Quinn, and Jerry Jones.
