John Courtney Becker
John Courtney Becker, 70, of Corpus Christi passed away on June 5, 2026. He was born on November 23, 1955, to Leta Beth and Alvin Becker, Jr. of Taft.
Johnny grew up in Taft and graduated from Taft High School in 1974. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1974 and served until 1978. He was always proud of his service for our country as a Marine. He still would offer an OORAH in some of his conversations! In the early 90s, Johnny enrolled in Del Mar College and earned his RN. He was proud of that achievement and always enjoyed his nursing.
Johnny was always fond of the outdoors. He especially enjoyed golfing with his son Blake. Johnny took pleasure in water activities with Whitney. Beach days and Schlitterbahn were his favorite outings with the family. Johnny was a proud grandpa and GP Johnny took pleasure in his time with his grands, Quintin and Payton.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents. His survivors include his children: Blake (Lucy) Becker of New Braunfels, and Whitney (Juan Carlos)Rodriguez of Portland; his grandchildren Quintin and Payton Rodriguez of Portland; his brother Bentley(Sherry)Becker of Aransas Pass; his sisters, Melanie Hickey, Valerie(Kenny)Mutchler, and Stephanie Bigbee, all of Taft; the mother of his children and love of his life, Eleanor Becker Dietz; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunts. He also leaves behind a circle of close friends in Corpus Christi.
