With heavy hearts, we lost our beautiful mother, Mrs. Julia B. Garcia, on Sunday, October 19th, 2025 at the age of 91 years old.  She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

She was born on July 30th, 1934 in Odem, Texas to Jacinta and Pedro Balderas.  ​Our mother loved to cook, tend to her flowers, making us laugh with her jokes and stories; and enjoyed the visits with her grandchildren.  Though our mother is gone, her presence is still felt tremendously.  Her love will always illuminate our hearts.  Her warmth will feel like a hug when we need comfort as a family.  We will miss and love you endlessly.  Thank you God for blessing us with 91 years of beautiful memories with our mother.

Julia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Esteban Garcia Sr; grandson, Esteban (Stevie) Garcia IV; sisters, Manuela Zavala and Benita Garcia; brothers, Rodolfo Balderas, Pedro Balderes, and Raul Balderas.

Julia is survived by her only sibling, Hortencia Medina of Plainview, Texas; and her loving daughters and sons, Frances and Tomas Garcia of Odem, Texas; Maria Carmen and Ruben Lopez of Taft, Texas; Dora Alicia Rocha of Odem, Texas; Esteban III and Elvira Garcia of Odem, Texas;  Gilberto and Marlene Garcia of Sinton, Texas; Gloria Garcia of Odem, Texas; and Rosa Marie Ortega of Odem, Texas.  She had twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren, five great-great- grandchildren, and she was aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be Thursday, October 23rd, 2025 from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. with the Holy Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday October 24th, 2025 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Odem, Texas with Father George as celebrant.  Intermittent will follow in San Pedro Cemetery in Odem, Texas.
