It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rogelio (Roy)  Barrera, Sr. on October 23, 2025 at the age of 80.  Roy was born in Edroy,Texas on August 14, 1945.  He was a longtime resident of Corpus Christi, Texas.  Roy was the owner of Barrera Trucking for 40 years and served the Corpus Christi community and surrounding areas.  He was a hard-working man that cared for his family and anyone who needed it.  Roy's kindness, gentleness, and generosity touched many lives.

He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Barrera; his sons, Henry Barrera, Roger (Mari) Barrera, and Randy Barrera; his daughter, JoLynn Garcia; his stepdaughter, Cassandra England, his many grandchildren , nieces and nephews. With gracious gratitude for his niece Noelia Lopez, who helped care for him in his final days and a special Thank You to Jesse Salas for being such a good friend and his loving pup Roxy, who will miss him dearly.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 from 5 p.m. to  9 p.m. with a holy rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Edroy, Tx with Father George as celebrant.  Interment will follow at Edroy Cemetery in Edroy, Texas.
