Teresa Duran Ortiz, 85, loving mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, and sister passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026.  Teresa enjoyed doing embroidery and being active in her church. She was also a foster grandparent for the Corpus Christi School District.

She was preceded in death by her parents Majin and Juanita De La Paz Duran; her husband, Manuel Ortiz; and her son, Martin Pedro Antonio Ortiz.  She is survived by her sons, Roger Ortiz of San Antonio, Manuel Ortiz Jr., and Gabriel Ortiz of Corpus Christi; her daughters, Betty Jean De Leon and Norma Jean Ortiz of Corpus Christi; her brother, Gilbert Duran; her sister, Orlinda Hernandez; thirteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; and four great-  great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 from

3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at San Pedro Cemetery in Odem.
